In this study, zooplankton composition and abundance data from a sampling carried out in three stations of the Ría of Vigo and adjacent shelf are compared. Sampling was carried out during daytime and nighttime using different types of mesh (200 µm and 500 µm), as well as different types of tow (horizontal and oblique). Copepoda were the dominant planktonic group in most samplings, reaching percentages of up to 88.6%. Zooplankton abundance was greater in tows carried out with 200 µm meshes (10 935± 10 022 ind/m3) than with 500 µm meshes (431± 355 ind/m3). Greater abundances were obtained with the oblique tow (6195± 9206 ind/m3) than with the horizontal tow (5171± 8583 ind/m3). On the other hand, abundances obtained in the nighttime sampling (3243± 3736 ind/rn3) are in some cases higher than those obtained during the daytime sampling (2415± 2402 ind/m3).
