Selectividad de los artes de arrastre en la pesquería de Galicia: merluza, jurel, lirio, gallos y cigala

Abstract

Se dan los resultados de experiencias de selectividad de artes de arrastre convencionales, realizadas entre 1979 y 1981 con el B/O «Cornide de Saavedra» en aguas de Galicia (NW de España) y de Portugal. Las especies para las que se obtuvieron resultados son la merluza (Merluccius merluccius L.), el jurel (Trachurus trachurus L.), el lirio o bacaladilla (Micromesistus poutassou Risso), la cigala (Nephrops norvegicus L.) y los gallos (Lepidorhomus boscii Rissso, L. whiffiagonis Walbaum). Los factores de selección resultantes fueron los siguientes: para la merluza entre 4 y 5, aumentando con la malla; para cigala, 0.5; para lirio, 5.0; para el jurel, 4.7, y para gallos, entre 2.1 y 2.8 aumentando con la malla. Finalmente se hacen consideraciones sobre los efectos de las diferentes mallas en la pesqueria demersal de Galicia y Cantábrico con vistas a la regulación.

Selectivity of the trawl gear in the Galician fishery: hake, horse mackerel, blue whiting, megrim, and Nephrops. Selectivity results of trawling experiences carried out during 1979-1981 are given. They were carried out with the R/V «Cornide de Saavedra» in Galician waters (NW Spain), and Portugal shelf. Results were obtained for hake (Merluccius rnerluccius L.), horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus L.) blue whiting (Micromesistius poutassou Risso), norway lobster (Nephrops norvegicus L.), and megrims (Lepidorhombus boscii Risso and L. whiffiaagonis Walbaum). The selection factors obtained were as follows: between 4 and 5 for hake, increasing with the/mesh size; 0.5 for Nephrops; 5.0 forblue whiting; 4.7 for horse mackerel and between 2.1 and 2.8 for megrim,increasing with the mesh size. Finally, considerations are made on the effects of different mesh sizes on the Galician and Cantabrian demersal fishery for management purposes.
