Nieves López-González is a researcher of the Marine Geosciences Group (GEMAR) at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography. She is graduated and PhD in Geology from the University of Huelva (Spain) and currently works as specialist in sedimentology and geochemistry of marine sediments from shallow to deep-sea areas and from a wide variety of marine environments. She has participated in more than 20 oceanographic expeditions and 18 research projects, and she has directed 3 Ms Thesis and 2 Bachelor Thesis, together with 1 PhD Thesis and one more in progress. She has published 14 book chapters, 22 papers in SCI journals and 42 in other journals, and presented more than 120 communications in national and international congresses
