Biography

César Peteiro is a research scientist (permanent position) at the Oceanographic Centre of Santander (IEO, CSIC) since 2005. He has participated in more than 10 research projects and has published more than 20 papers indexed in JCR (Journal Citation Report) and is reviewer for more than 5 scientific journals with JCR impact. He has a wide range of skills and knowledge about biology and culture of seaweeds, being expert in kelp species. Research interests include: (1) Seaweed cultivation for commercial and environmental purposes, including indoor and outdoor methods. (2) Development of new uses and products based on seaweeds. (3) Laboratory experiments to investigate aspects of the seaweed biology of economic and ecological importance.
