Biography

Eugenio Fraile Nuez, born in Gran Canaria (Spain) in 1976, is graduate and PhD in Marine Sciences (Dr. Physical Oceanography) at the University of Las Palmas. Since 2009 is a Research at IEO. His research on Climate Changefocuses on the variability of the thermohaline properties on large-scale ocean processes. Fraile’s research has resulted in over 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, more than 30 national and international Research Projects and more than 100 oceanographic cruises. He is currently the Physical Oceanography leader of Malaspina and the I.P. of Bimbache, Vulcano I-II projects for the submarine volcano of El Hierro. Recently, Fraile is Advisor for the National Maritime Security Council of the Spanish Government in Submarine Vulcanological Risk and Physical Oceanography
