Biography
Jose Castro is graduate in Biology in 1989 by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) and in Marine Sciences by the University of Vigo (UVIGO) in 1997. In 2011, he got the PhD in Sciences by UVIGO with a PhD on mixed-fisheries management. In 2015, he got an MSc on Applied Statistics by the Universidad Española a Distancia (UNED).Since 1999, he has carried out research and assessment as part of the IEO Program 01 (Spanish fisheries of the ICES Area) at the Vigo IEO laboratory. His work has been developed in three main lines:assessment of demersal fisheries resources in Atlantic European waters, mixed-fisheries management in Iberian waters, and biological sampling of fisheries data.
